Teaching

Tom Varner is an Associate Professor of Music at Cornish College of the Arts, where he has taught since 2012. Tom leads jazz and improvised music ensembles and teaches French horn, composition, improvisation, arranging, and musicianship (theory, ear training, keyboard, and sight singing).

Tom has been a Featured Artist at over 14 International Horn Society (IHS) events, from Towson State (1985) to Ghent (2019), giving performances, master classes, and lectures. He is a Lifetime Honoree in the IHS.

Tom is also available to teach privately via Zoom, for French horn, composition, and improvisation.
